From the President of GPC
It is the end of our meetings for 2009 and we have had great speakers this year. The meeting from September 19, 2009, taught us much. We had a member of the team that performed the hand transplants at UPMC, attorneys speaking on bankruptcy, gastric banding, how drugs are developed for specific purposes and what foods help combat certain cancers. I have to admit I was at first skeptical about the pharmacy speaker as it was very technical, but it turned out to be very informative. If you did not attend you missed a good meeting.
As noted on the right side of this page we have a chapter email address through GoDaddy, please use that for all emails. It may seem a bit long, but it does state who we are.

IMPORTANT ISSUES:
We now have a treasurer which has put into compliance with national. It is important to note that we as a chapter of AHDI do have certain things we must comply with each year. I cannot express strong enough that participation by our members sends a strong message that we care about what happens in our field.
We are hosting PA-AHDI meeting in 2010 in October. I need volunteers to help with this, the more the better. I would like to have all our membership help in anyway possible. It is being held at the Embassy Suites where it was in 2008. I will be putting out a list soon of where help is needed.
We need meetings set up for next year. Three of them in fact. One in March, May, and September. Each will be for 2 speakers. The second Saturday of the month has been working well for us. I will not do this all myself as I did in 2009. We need the place and time. It does not have to be a hospital. We will need speakers for the meetings, either 1 to speak for 2 hours or 2 to speak for 1 hour each.
